Don't Trust Trump

My name is Daniel. I was an English teacher in Seoul, South Korea, and am now  a writer who has
published four books including South Korea: Our Story by Daniel Nardini.
It is the logic of the law of averages. Many, many South Korean
conservatives feel that U.S. President Donald Trump has simply “betrayed” South Korea and may
in fact give up American influence on the Korean peninsula in the belief that he is doing something
good for the two Koreas and Koreans. For the record, I will state DO NOT TRUST DONALD TRUMP.
Whatever Trump does he does for Donald Trump. During the 2016 election, I was NEVER for Trump
on the premise that he is an habitual liar and his own life reflects complete and total immorality. Truth
be told that there are many Americans conservatives who are against Donald Trump. The sad thing is
that too many other American conservatives have come to follow Trump simply because they are
against the Democrats, against the Liberals and believe Trump will give them what they want. But as
the saying goes can one trust one poisonous snake against another poisonous snake? Besides his
immoral lifestyle, his psychiatric profile is also in question. He has been known to say one thing and
then say something completely different the next. Worse, he has been known to totally lie when it is
so plainly obvious. So a Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump meeting could go good or completely bad
depending on what Trump does or says. Even Trump’s closest aides in the White House are not sure
what he will do next. However, and this is a BIG however, there are some good people in the U.S.
government and in the U.S. military who will stand with South Korea and the Korean people regardless
who is in charge of the presidency. To any and all South Korean conservatives, I say believe in the
American people and in America. Back in 1979, when then U.S. President Jimmy Carter threatened to
totally withdraw all U.S. troops and cut off all help to South Korea, the U.S. military did not carry out
his orders until he was out of power. The U.S. military, like the South Korean military, knows what is at
stake for the Republic of Korea, and with any luck will make sure that South Korea and the Korean
people are not betrayed by this latest facade of China’s and North Korea’s attempt to make South
Korea their puppet.
